ObjectiveTRPV3is a non-selective cation channel protein which can be activated byphysiological temperature and kinds of nonthermal stimuli, such as peppermint, camphor, ethyl vanillin,thymol,eugenol,2-APB,arachidonic acid,PLC,unsaturated fatty acid,NO,and it is involved in different biological activities including temperature sensation, inflammation, cell signal transduction and regulation of calcium.TRPV3can be expressedin human central nervous system and sensory neurons and it is also distributed in skin、tongue, colon, liver, etc. Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignant tumors, which is a complex process combined with multiple genes and factors. TRPV3expressionis tested and the relationship between TRPV3and clinical pathological characteristics isanalyzed to elucidate its role in colorectal cancer formation.MethodsIn the current study, surgical biopsy samples and clinical data of68patients withcolorectal carcinoma, which underwent operations at the Liaocheng Second People’sHospital, were investigated. TRPV3expression of these samples was observed byimmunohistochemical methods, and the relationship between TRPV3andclinicopathological parameters (age, gender, pathological types、tumor size、degree ofdifferentiation) was also analyzed.Results1.Immunohistochemical results suggested that of the68cases of the colorectalcarcinoma,28cases showed expression of TRPV3. The positive rates of TRPV3expression was41.18%.2.Clinicopathological features showed that the expression of TRPV3in the colorectalcarcinoma was closely correlated with tumor size, the metastasis of lymph nodes andDukes stages, and the relationship was not significant for age, gender, the depth of invasion, venous invasion, pathological types.ConclusionTRPV3were expressed in colorectal carcinoma tissues by varying levels, and theexpression of TRPV3which is closely correlated with tumor size, the metastasis of lymphnodes and Dukes stages suggested its role in the genesis and development of colorectalcarcinoma.
