Objective:To investigate the expression of Notchl in colorectal cancer and discuss the association between the expressions of notch1 and their relationship with the clinicopathological features. Methods: The expression of Notch1 mRNA in pecimens of colorectal cancer and specimens of normal colon tissues by using RT-PCR semi-quantity method ; The expression Notch1 protein in 51 pecimens of colorectal cancer and 26 specimens of normal colon tissues were detected by SP immunohistochemistry. Results:The expression of Notch1mRNA have been detected in colorectal cancer and normal tissuses 2.The expression of Notch1 protein was significantly upregulated in colorectal cancer as compared normal colon tissues(P<0.01). The expression of Notch1 in colorectal carcinoma was not correlated to age and sex of patients, lymph node of metastasis and Clinical stage of colorectal carcinoma (P>0.05), except histological grading and pathological types of patients (P<0.05) ;There were significant differences in inter-subgroup.. Conclusion:the expression of Notch1 may be correlation to the pathological grades of colorectal cancer,Notch1 may be involved in the tumorigenesis and progression of human colorectal cancer. Objectives: To observe the expression of Notch1 and NF-KB in colorectal carcinoma and their clinical significance. Methods: Immunohistochemistry staining was used to detect the expression of Notch1 and NF-KB in 51cases of colorectal carcinoma and 26 specimens of normal colon tissues. Results: (1) The expression of Notch1 in colorectal carcinoma was higher than expression in the normal tissue (P<0.05). The expression of NF-KB in colorectal carcinoma was higher than expression in the normal tissue (P<0.05). (2) The expression of Notch1 in colorectal carcinoma was not correlated to age and sex of patients, Dukes stage and lymph node of metastasis of colorectal carcinoma (P>0.05), except tumor size , and diferentiation grade of patients (P<0.05) (3) The expression of NF-KB in colorectal carcinoma was not correlated to age and sex of patients of colorectal carcinoma (P>0.05), except tumor size, and diferentiation grade, lymph node of metastasis and ,Dukes stage of patients (P<0.05).(4) The combined check on the expression of Notch1and NF-KB in colorectal carcinoma was correlated to histological grading, of patients (P<0.05).Conclusions: The expression of Notch1 and NF-KB in the colorectal carcinoma tissues is much higher than that in normal tissue expression; It suggests that they may play an important role in colorectal tumorigenesis and development.
