A Study On Canggui Tanxue Technique To SI11in Rehabilitating Wrist-hand Function Of Patients With Stroke

Objectives:To evaluate the therapeutic effects and safety of Canggui Tanxue technique on SI11in treating wrist-hand function disorder of stoke patients.Methods:60stroke cases were randomly divided into treatment group(treated by Canggui Tanxue technique on SI11combining with regular acupuncture and rehabilitation) and controlled group(treated by regular acupuncture and rehabilitation). All the patients were treated for8weeks, five times a week. Changes in Lindmark scale and Barthel Index scores were observed before and after treatment. Two months later, follow-up was adopted to study the long-term effects in two groups by Barthel Index.Results:(1) Baseline analysis:age, course, and scores of Lindmark scale and Barthel index before the treatment were of no statistic significance (p>0.05), showing balanced baseline and fine comparability.(2) Comparisons in two groups before and after the treatment:scores of upper-limb function, wrist function, hand function in Lindmark scale and Barthel Index were of obvious statistic significance(p<0.01).(3) Comparisons between two groups after treatment:scores of upper-limb function were of obvious statistic significance (p<0.01), with wrist function, hand function, and Barthel Index were of statistic significance (p<0.05).(4) Follow-up comparisons of the two groups:Barthel Index scores were of no statistic significance in and between the two groups (p>0.05)Conclusions:Both of two methods could improve wrist-hand function of stroke patients. The treatment group was more effective than the controlled group in improving upper-limb function, wrist function and hand function. Furthermore, both of two methods had long-term effects in improving wrist-hand function of stroke patients, but with no difference.
