ObjectiveAs compound techniques, The method of Canggui exploring point first recorded more than1000years ago. This acupuncture manipulation could strength and enlarge stimulation of the lesions. So, this subject choose this manipulation method that treat with scapulohumeral periarthritis. And to evaluate the effect through the randomized trial.MethodsIn this study, there were60cases of scapulohumeral periarthritis, participants were randomly assigned to receive either the acupuncture manipulation which we named Canggui exploring point or acupuncture therapy. And after end of the treatment course, recorder entered the collected information into the computer, using software packages SPSS17.0management and statistical analysised.ResultsBefore the patients accepted the treatment program. The Visual analogue score (VAS score) were recorded, and the differences were not statistical significance. But after treatment, the VAS scores were decreased, and the treatment group remarkably. The statistics analysis showed that the acupuncture manipulation of Canggui exploring points effectively alleviated the patients’pain. The same way, patients’ROM scores were recorded before and after the treatment. On the base of directly comparable, the treatment group after receiving the intervention measures, improved the scores significantly, and gained a greater range of motion in shoulder joint. According to the joint function, result compared with control group, recovery of joint function in the treatment group was better. Two months after the treatment finished, in the treatment group,7cases were completely cured, significantly improved in13cases, and improved in 6cases, no-effective in one case. While in the control group,3cases were completely cured, significantly improved in8cases, and improved in12cases, no-effective in7cases. The overall effective rate was86.66%for treatment group and76.67%for control group, the treatment group is much better than control group, which had obvious difference (P<0.05)ConclusionIn the study, traditional multiple acunpuncture manipulation which named Canggui exploring points is used to treat scapulohumeral periertheitis, and compared with acupuncture, this method can effectively alleviate pain of patients, improve quality of life. Its method is simple, practical, safe and worthy of clinical use.
