Objects:The clinical curative effect of nerve stem stimulated therapy was systematicly observed in the treatment of upper limb spasticity after stroke as comparing with the traditional method to search for a method which is safer、more standard、economical and easier for the clinical promotion.Methods:63stroke patients who were met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into2groups:nerve stem stimulation group (number32) and traditional method group (number31).The nerve stem stimulation group selected3acupoints: Neiguan (PC6The median nerve), Chize (LU5Radial nerve), Jlquan (HT1Brachial plexus nerve). The other gourp with traditional method selected3acupoints based on the theory of treating wilt disease only with Yangming meridian:Jianyu(LI15),Quchi(L110),Hegu(LI4).Both of them were combined with rehabilitation techniques.2groups would have6cntinuous courses of treatment. After the whole treatment the nerve stem stimulation group was compared with the traditional method group of the Ashworth spasticity evaluation the motor function with simple Fugl-Meyer score and assessment of activities of daily living to improve the situation.Results:Nerve stem stimulation group was btter than traditional method group in easing cramps but without a significant difference from the traditional method group.Nerve stem stimulation group was btter than traditional method group in improving the motor function and improving activities of daily living with a significant difference from the traditional method group.Conclusions:Nerve stem stimulation therapy in the treatment of upper limb spasticity after stroke can ease cramps and improve the motor function as well as improving activities of daily living of patients.This method is worth further study and clinical promotion.
