Objective:Randomized control method was conducted to evaluate the clinical effect of never trunk stimulation therapy on treating upper limb spasticity, the clinical effect was compared with acupuncture to discuss the advanced therapy in treating upper limb spasticity, and provide a safe, effective, economical method which would be suitable for promotion in clinic.Methods:94patients with stroke, who were in accordance with the inclusion criteria, were randomized into nerve trunk stimulation group(treated with nerve trunk stimulation therapy) and acupuncture group(treated with acupuncture) with47people in each group, both groups were combined with rehabilitation. The treatment included6courses,5days were considered as a course of treatment with an interval of2days. The difference of modified Ashworth spasm evaluation, clinical neural function-defect assessment, and activity of daily living were observed before treatment, in the process of treatment and after treatment.Results:Nerve trunk stimulation had a better effect compare to acupuncture in improving limb spasm, clinical neural function and daily living, and the difference being significant (P<0.05).Conclusions:Comparing to acupuncture, nerve trunk stimulation had a better effect in improving limb spasm, clinical neural function and daily living, which would be a therapy worth studying and promoting.
