The Impact Of Group Work On Recovering Schizophrenic Children In Rehabilitation Phase

With the changes in the pattern of modern medicine, the treatment of schizophrenia has transformed from single treatment to comprehensive and holistic treatment, which means combine pharmacotherapy and psychological, social treatment together. Medical social work has increasingly concerned about this area, however, existing research mostly concentrated in the level of whether social work affect the treatment of schizophrenia, and also the scientificalness of operating and measuring method yet to be further verified, at the same time, existing research failed to concentrate the analysis of different impact in different types of group activities. Based on previous studies, this paper mainly discusses the following questions:1. whether group work affect the rehabilitation of schizophrenic patients,2.If it does, whether this effect is positive or negative,3.whether there are differences between different types of group activities.How to operate:conduct a comparative study in30schizophrenic children who accept treatment in child and adolescent branch in mental health center which located in Wuhan. Using the paired sample method to classify this30patients equally into three groups:control group and comprehensivegroupl,comprehensivegroup2.The control group only receives pharmacotherapy, comprehensive group1and2also receives pharmacotherapy, while group1is given family group treatment, group2is given social intercourse group treatment. This study use SCL90,FACES Ⅱ; PANSS and PSP to assess the psychiatric symptom, family relationship and social of the patients, in order to determine the treatment effect.The experimental result shows:1.After the treatment, the score of control group, comprehensive groupl, comprehensive group2has significant difference.(p<0.05)2.the score of comprehensive groupl and comprehensive group3is better than control group,3.the score of FACES Ⅱ of comprehensive groupl is better than comprehensive group2,while the score of PSP of comprehensive group2is better than comprehensive group1.Following conclusions can be drawn from this study:1. Pharmacotherapy, family group treatment and social intercourse group treatment has positive impact on the rehabilitation of schizophrenic patients, which means, group work has positive impact on the rehabilitation of schizophrenic patients.2. The effect of the combination of pharmacotherapy and group work treatment is better than pharmacotherapy, which is conducive to the rehabilitation of schizophrenic patients.3.There are differences between the effect of family group treatment and social intercourse group treatment, the former is more conducive to the patients’ family relationship, the latter is more conducive to the patients’social fuction.4.As to psychiatric symptom, there are no significant difference between family group and social intercourse group.5.If we combine the family group treatment and social intercourse group treatment together, it maybe more conducive to the rehabilitation of schizophrenic patients.
