Objective: To explore the expression and significance of receptor activatornuclear factorκ-B ligand (RANKL) and osteoprotegerin (OPG) in pediatrictumor-like lesions (bone cysts, aneurismal bone cyst). Methods: We collected23cases of aneurismal bone cysts、31cases ofsimple bone cysts and14cases of normal bone tissues.ImmunohistochemicalSABC methods and computer image analysis were used to evaluate theexpressions of RANKL、OPG in simple bone cyst, aneurismal bone cystsand analysis of their differences. Results: Simple bone cysts and aneurismal bone cysts of RANKL proteinexpression was significantly higher than the expression of the normal bonetissues, with statistical significance, aneurismal bone cyst of RANKLexpression than the simple bone cyst, there are statistics significance; theexpression of OPG protein expression is lower than normal bone tissue wasstatistically significant, slightly higher than the simple bone cyst aneurismalbone cyst OPG, not statistically significant. RANKL/OPG ratio in aneurismalbone cyst> simple bone cysts> normal tissue, there are statistically significant. Conclusion: The serious damage of RANKL, OPG balance is the cause Ofbody from the spontaneous destruction of bone; A slight rise of the RANKL/OPG ratio does not lead to the body from osteolytic destruction, suggestingthat RANKL/OPG ratio after a certain critical point will cause the body tobone destruction, this ratio off point for further study. Preliminary indicationof the high expression of RANKL and aneurismal bone cyst recurrence isclosely related.
