BackgroundThe knee joint is one of the most frequently injured joints. Imaging examination is animportant method to diagnose the knee injury. Improper sports or trauma can cause kneetrauma, Plain radiography, computed tomography(CT), and arthrography have manylimitations to determine the exact location and level of injury, MRI has high resolution onskeletal muscle and ligament cartilage, it can also be a good show onskeletal trauma. The sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MRI in the diagnosis ofmeniscal and ligament injuries reported before differed from each other, and there were fewreports involving particular comparison of the findings at MRI and the results atarthroscopy, analyzing possible causes of all false negative and false positive findings, andestimating different scan techniques(pulse sequences).Objectives1To illustrate the normal and abnormal magnetic resonance(MR) image appearance of themain structures of the knee including menisci, ligaments and bone structures2To evaluate the value of MRJ for demonstrating internal disorders of the knee bycalculating the sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MRI in the diagnosis of various kneedisorders in comparison with arthroscopic findings.3To evaluate the possible causes of false negative and false positive findings....
