Objective:To further elucidate the pathogenesis of children allergic rhinitis and the mechanism of action of Chinese traditional medicine XingBiWenMinNingJiaoJi in allergic rhinitis,we observing the clinical effect of Chinese traditional medicine XingBiWenMinNingJiaoJi in children allergic rhinitis and its influence on serum IgE and LTE4. It provides new methods, new formulations and new ideas for the prevention and treatment of AR in Chinese traditional medicine.It also lay the foundation for the application of nano-liposome technology and thermo-sensitive gel method and new drug research on treatment of AR in traditional Chinese medicine.Methods:We found20children with allergic rhinitis in Affiliated People’s Hospital of Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and they were randomly divided into a Chinese traditional medicine-treatment group (n=10) and a western medicine-treatment group (n=10).The Chinese traditional medicine treatment group use XingBiWenMinNingJiaoJi;The western medicine comparison group was treated with Budesonide nasal spray(Rhinocort). Two weeks is a period of treatment. Measure the serum IgE and LTE4for each group before treatment and after treatment for2and4weeks. At the meanwhile, observing the nasal local symptoms of these two groups, score them for compare and evaluate. Select10healthy children as a normal control group in our hospital medical center and measure their serum IgE and LTE4. The measured data are presented as mean±standard deviation (x±s) and analysised with SPSS statistical software.Results:Relative to the normal group, the treatment group and comparison group had significantly increased the level of serum IgE before treatment (P<0.05and P<0.01).Serum LTE4levels in the treatment group and comparison group were markedly higher than the normal group before treatment (P<0.01). There was no significant difference between the treatment group and comparison group in serum IgE and LTE4levels(P>0.05);After treatment for2and4weeks, serum IgE levels of the treatment group have no significantly difference (P<0.05). Compare with this situation, serum LTE4levels in the treatment group were significantly lower than before (P<0.01). Serum IgE and LTE4levels in the comparison group were significantly lower than before (P<0.01) and there was no significant difference between the treatment group and comparison group in clinical efficacy after treatment for2and4weeks; After treatment for4weeks, there was no significant difference between the treatment group and comparison group in serum IgE and LTE4levels.Conclusions:1、Serum IgE and LTE4levels were significantly elevated in children with allergic rhinitis, it means that IgE and leukotriene involved in the immune inflammatory response of allergic rhinitis;2、XingBiWenMinNingJiaoJi and Budesonide nasal spray can reduce the level of the serum LTE4levels in children allergic rhinitis. That is because of XingBiWenMinNingJiaoJi may interfere with the biosynthesis or the role of the LTs or role in their respective receptors, reducing its combination with the target cells, thereby inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators such as LTs;3、There was no significant difference in XingBiWenMinNingJiaoJi and Budesonide nasal spray on improving symptoms and signs. Their clinical efficacy were similar to each other;4、Pure chinese traditional medicine XingBiWenMinNingJiaoJi have advanced dosage forms and less side effects which improves the drug bioavailability without damage on the nasal mucosa, makes the drugs concentrate in the nose to reduce systemic action and achieve the best effect.
