Clinical Observation On The Locking Compression Plate And Gu Shang Fu Yuan Soup In Treatment Of Distal Tibial Fractures

Objective:To explore the Clinical Observation on the Therapeutic Effect of Gu shang fu yuan soup in promoting Fracture Healing of the distal tibial fractures, after the Internal fixation treatment using Locking Compression Plate, and provide the theoretical foundation for clinical use.Methods:60cases of distal tibial fractures which corresponded with the inclusion criteria were performed by retrospective study.30cases intervened by gu shang fu yuan soup were set for experimental group and the others with no intervention of medicine were set for control group respectively. Open reduction combining Locking Compression Plate Internal fixation was used in all cases; the experimental group started to be administered the gu shang fu yuan soup from the third day after surgery with a successive application of4weeks; the control group did not carry on drug intervention. All patients were received X-Ray check at the1st day, the2ed week,4th week,6th week,8th week,12th week and16th week after operation and every4weeks after the16th week to show the healing of Fracture. All patients were received serologic examinations of ALP at the preoperative and postoperative4th weeks, postoperative8th weeks. All their nailfold microcirculation on the ring fingers of left hands were checked at the preoperative and postoperative4th weeks, postoperative8th weeks, after the healing of fracture. The healing of fractures and the function of limbs were examined with Johner-Wruhs score and the Mazur ankle scoring system at The final follow-up.Results:The Followed-up period ranged from6～14months, with an average of9.6months, All fractures were unionized with the healing time ranging from12to24weeks (mean,14.3weeks). The osteotylus appearing time and healing times of experimental group were lower than those of the control group, and the comparison between them showed significant differences (P<0.05). The level of serum ALP in experimental group were higher than those in control group at the postoperative4th weeks (P<0.05); The situations of nailfold microcirculation in experimental group were significantly better than those in control group at the postoperative4th weeks and postoperative8th weeks (P<0.05); The results of Johner-Wruhs score and the Mazur ankle scoring system of study group showed good fracture healing and function, but the differences were not statistically significant (P>0.05). Conclusion:Internal fixation with Locking Compression Plate combining Gu shang fu yuan soup in the treatment of distal tibial fractures might promote the healing of fractures.
