ObjectiveTo investigate the prevalence and clinical features of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) in infertile female hospitalized patients.Methods123cases PCOS patients accorded with the ESHRE/ASRM diagnostic criteria were selected in1368cases hospitalized female infertile patients from Xiangtan city central hospital Reproductive Center during January2008to October2011,and clinical data was analyzed retrospectively. The risk factors of metabolic syndrome (MS) were identified in infertility female with PCOS by binary Logistic regression analysis.Results①In female infertility data, the prevalence of PCOS was9.0%,whose age was concentrated in26to30years old,and Body mass index (BMI) mostly focused on18.5-23.9(kg/m2).②PCOS patients exhibited diversified clinical phenotypes,in which anovulomenorrhea plus polycystic ovary accounted for the highest percentage (62.6%).③Compared with fallopian tubal obstruction infertile female whose age and body mass index matching PCOS patients,PCOS patients’serum follicle stimulating hormone(FSH) and high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C) was lower (P<0.01or0.05),thus serum luteinizing hormone(LH),testosterone, thyroid stimulating hormone(TSH),systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, serum triglyceride(TG), fasting blood sugar (FBS),2h postprandial blood sugar (2hBS) was higher (P<0.05or0.01).④The serum estradiol(E2) and testosterone level of PCOS infertile female in LH/FSH≥2group was higher than those patients in LH/FSH<2group(P<0.01), but TG of the former was lower than the latter(P<0.05).⑤In infertile female with PCOS, MS prevalence was22.8%,and most common when combined with dyslipidemia(35.0%).⑥Compared with the PCOS normal weight group, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, FBS,2hBS, serum TG, serum LDL-C in overweight/obese PCOS patients were higher (P<0.05or0.01), but the serum HDL-C was lower than the normal weight group (P<0.01).⑦BMI was a risk factor of infertile female patients wtih PCOS who surffered from MS.⑧There was no relevance between infertility duration and clinical indexes in infertile female with PCOS.⑨Pregnancy success rate through in vitro fertilization-embryo transfer (IVF-ET)was equal between infertile female with PCOS or not(P>0.05).Conclusion①The prevalence of PCOS in infertile female is9.0%.②In infertile female, clinical manifestations of PCOS are diverse,in which anovulomenorrhea plus polycystic ovary is more common.③PCOS infertile female may combine with MS, especially in overweight/obese PCOS patients being more prone to appear abnormal MS component such as blood pressure, blood sugar, blood lipid.
