Objective: To observe and evaluate the clinical efficacy of acupuncture Xi(cleft)point as a main treatment for lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion(LIDP), with a view toprovide clinical basis for finding non-operative therapy for the treatment ofLIDP.Methods:The research is performed on60patients with lumbar intervertebral discprotrusion. The60cases were randomly divided into the acupuncture X(icleft)point groupas the treatment group and the traditional-acupuncture group as the comparition group,with30cases for each group.All the patients were treated for two treatment period.We evaluateevery case according to the following indexes before the treatment and aftertreatment:JOA、VAS and the efficacy.Result: The acupuncture Xi(cleft)point group wasmore effective than acupuncture control group.Both the index of JOA and VAS evaluationof the two groups are promoted after treatment. And the acupuncture Xi(cleft)point groupis superior to the comparition group acupuncture.There were also significant differencesbetween the first and second course of treatment.Conclusion:The acupuncture Xi(cleft)point group as a main treatment for LIDP can improve the clinical curative effect and issuperior to the comparition group in the improvement of pain, functional impairment andlife skills. |
