In such an era of information and knowledge explosion in which the innovation of the educational concept, change of medical model and reform of medical system has been formed, the traditional education pattern that rely only on colleges and universities can’t meet the demand of more career transitions caused by social development. as well as the demand of medical workers to obtain knowledge and vocational development. In this case, Lifelong education has become the main trend of international education. It plays more and more important roles for Learner autonomy and lifelong education in improving the quality and level of the whole medical staffs, to meet the demand of modernization construction and improvement of citizens’health. As a special group, soldiers have a higher requirement of the health level. In addition, there are a lot of special and unknown potential health risks during the procedure of the military training and life under the condition of new military reform, which is a formidable challenge for the training of military medical staffs.The previous studies on learner autonomy mainly chose the primary school students, secondary school students and local university undergraduate students as candidates, for which the English subject is always the focus. In contrast, there are few studies concerning the learner autonomy of undergraduate medical students, not to mention the projects about the status quo of their autonomous learning.In this study, we constructed a suit of evaluation index system, which can reflect the characteristics of different levels of undergraduate student’s autonomous learning in medical university. Students in different grades and their teachers were selected as questionnaire survey objects to explore the differences of learner autonomy among different grades. Based on the result, we put forward some suggestions to ameliorate the learner autonomy of military medical undergraduate students, in order to improve their quality.This project falls into the following four parts:The first part:preface. We summarized the research background, purpose and meaning, research contents, methods and the study technology routing. We discussed the concept of learner autonomy and its research progress based on literature review.The second part:Construction of the evaluation index system of learner autonomy of undergraduates in military medical university. First, we draw out the theory analysis of learner autonomy of undergraduates in military medical university, and draw up the content of evaluation index system of learner autonomy of undergraduates in military medical university, through discussing the connotation of the learner autonomy. And then,40experts were surveyed for their opinions in two rounds, determined5first grade indexes,14second grade indexes and45third grade observation points. Finally, through the third round of expert’s consultation, we used analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to get the weight of the indicators of all level of the evaluation system, and constructed an evaluation index system for learner autonomy of military medical students.The third part:investigation and analysis of the present situation of undergraduates’ learner autonomy in military medical university. According to the index system of the second part, we developed " independent study present situation investigation questionnaire for undergraduates in military medical university ", and surveyed the students of the five-year undergraduate and teachers of both A and B military medical university respectively, Altogether1200questionnaires were sent out and1137valid ones were retrieved. Based on the statistics of survey results, we used both histogram and radar graph, from the vertical and horizontal aspects to reflect the current situation of learner autonomy of undergraduates in military medical university. Histograms can reflect the trends of changes of each indicator in different grades, and the radar graph can reflect the advantage and disadvantage of each grade in different indicators more directly.The fourth part:suggestions and countermeasures. Based on the result of the third part, the advantages and disadvantages exist in the proceeding of learner autonomy of undergraduates in military medical university were defined. In addition, we put forward some suggestions and countermeasures, in order to carry forward the advantages and correct some backwards in teaching concepts.
