With the quick development of comprehensive national strength of China and the great improvement of living standard of Chinese people, the requirements for the advanced manpower of medicine and health have been higher and higher. Now, eight-year clinical medical education has been carried out experimentally in several universities and colleges in order to foster high-quality manpower for medicine and healthcare. As a challenge, the eight-year medical education in China is a new kind of medical education system for most of universities and colleges, so is it to military medical universities. By consulting literature as much as possible and making comparison, this study is to give a general introduction of medical education home and abroad and compare the curriculum design of several representative universities and colleges. Based on the introduction and comparison, some improving suggestion for the courses design in military medical universities is given so as to advance the development of the eight-year medical education in military universities.With the methods of literature and comparison, the study is accomplished and the result related has finally given birth to this thesis which contains six parts.Part One is the exordium focusing on the studying background, the definition of several concepts and the researching methods.Part Two is the theories study which contains two aspects, namely modern teaching ideology and theories, including Lifelong Education, Students-centered theory of Dewey and so on.Part Three is the general introduction of medical education home and abroad, in which the overall characteristics of American, French, Germany, Japanese, Britain and Chinese medical education have been introduced respectively.Part Four is the brief introduction of clinical medical education in several universities and colleges home and abroad, such as that in Harvard University and in Xiehe University.Part Five is focusing on the comparison of the curriculum goals and contents as well as admissions and teaching management among five universities and colleges. Part six is the suggestion on the methods for improving the eight-year clinical medical education in military universities, among which are rationalization of curriculum goal, establishment of special organization for the supervision,enrichment of admission methods, and so on.
