Objective:Judge the Body Constitutional Type in TCM and the the TCM syndrome of120Patients with ulcerative colitis(UC), investigate the Body Constitutional Type in TCM and the the TCM syndromes of the UC’s distribution, explore the relationship between the Body Constitutional Type in TCM and the Syndromes of UC.Supply a new way to remedy and prevent UC, which is based on the Body Constitutional Type in TCM.Methods:Use the questionnaire survey, gather120Patients with UC. They are categorized into nine TCM constitution types, which are:gentleness type, qi-deficiency type, qi-depression type, wetness-heat type, phlegm-wet type, special inherited type, yang-deficiency type, yin-deficiency type and blood-stasis type. And they are also categorized into six TCM syndrome types which are:large intestine damp heats syndrome, spleen and stomach qi deficiency syndrome, spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome, liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome, yin and blood deficiency syndrome, intestinal blood stasis syndrome. Clear the income relevant data and build a database table, the relationship of TCM constitution types and the syndrome types of UC were analyzed by the SPSS19.0statistical software.Results:1. In the aggregate,120UC patients are gathered, in which62cases are male,58cases are female, the male to female ratio is1.068:1. In which63cases are young people, accounting for52.50%,35cases are middle-aged, accounting for29.16%,22cases are old-aged, accounting for18.33%. By the way of the chi-square test, there is no significant relationship between UC patients’s age and gender.2.The frequency of the TCM Constitution types in UC is:wetness-heat type(20.83%)> qi-deficiency type(16.67%)>yang-deficiency type(14.17%)>qi-depression type(12.50%)>phlegm-wet type(11.67%)>blood-stasis type(10.83%)>gentleness type(8.83%)>yin-deficiency type (4.17%)> special inherited type(0.83%).3.The frequency of the TCM syndromes of UC is:large intestine damp heats syndrome(28.33%)>spleen and stomach qi deficiency syndrome(25.83%)>spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome(15.83%)>liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome(14.17%)>intestinal blood stasis syndrome(11.67%)>yin and blood deficiency syndrome(4.17%).4.Wetness-heat type is common in large intestine damp heats syndrome and intestinal blood stasis syndrome, qi-deficiency type and yang-deficiency type are common in spleen and stomach qi deficiency syndrome, qi-depression type is common in liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome, phlegm--wet type, blood-stasis type and gentleness type are common in spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome; large intestine damp heats syndrome and intestinal blood stasis syndrome are common in wetness-heat type, liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome is common in qi-depression type.Conclusion:Wetness-heat type, qi-deficiency type and yang-deficiency type are the major types of the Body Constitutional Type in TCM of UC. Large intestine damp heats syndrome and spleen and stomach qi deficiency syndrome are the major types of the the TCM syndromes. We find that it is closely related to wetness-heat type in Body Constitutional Type in TCM and large intestine damp heats syndrome also and intestinal blood stasis syndrome in TCM syndromes. It is closely related to Qi-deficiency type and yang-deficiency type in Body Constitutional Type in TCM and spleen and stomach qi deficiency syndrome in TCM syndromes, and it is closely related to qi-depression type in Body Constitutional Type in TCM and liver depression and spleen deficiency syndrome in TCM syndromes. This research prompt that there is a certain correlation between the UC patients’s Body Constitutional Type in TCM and the the TCM syndromes. Based on the intervention and adjustment of patient’s Body Constitutional Type in TCM, we can improve the curative effect, reduce the recidivation of UC and prevent UC.
