Research Into Professor ZHOU Zhong-ying’s Experience In Treating Bronchial Asthma By Considering Wind-phlegm

This article is completed in his teacher, professor Wang Zhiying’guidance and in this article, the writer presents Chinese medicine etiology, pathology, and treatment rules of bronchial asthma on the basis of the professor Zhou Zhongying’considering wind-phlegm academic idea and clinical experience in treating bronchial asthma.In the introduction,the author presents the definition of Bronchial Asthma, symptoms, domesticand international deficiencies of epidemiological characteristics. At the same time,the respective superiority and inferiority of TCM and modern medicine. Moreover,the write points out that Professor Zhou Zhongying have accumulated rich experience in the process of treating bronchial asthma and he advocates considering wind-phlegm,so this study of his academic idea and clinical experience is very important.In the first section, the author presents the cognition of bronchial asthma in ancient medical classics. On the basis of<Huang di nei jing>and<Shang han lun>, the ancient Chinese medicine doctor have recongzed the pathogenesis and syndrome of this disease, moreover, they develop it throughout their clinical experience. All this provide valuable experience for differentiation treatment of Bronchial Asthma on later ages.In the second section, the author provides a systemic statement on the clinical experience of Professor Zhou on treating bronchial asthm. In this section the author presents the etiology and pathogenesis, principles of treatment,commonly. A poor constitution and retained phlegm are the essence of etiology.So Professor Zhou raised a viewpoint that "wind-phlegm is the source"and pointed out that pathogenic wind is divided into external wind and internal wind,the former attacking the lung and the latter attacking the liver and the spleen. Professor Zhou believes that the obstruction of the lung by wind-phlegm is the main pathogenesis of asthma at the attack period. During the remission period,wind-phlegm is still existing and is the main reason for repeated attack.So we considered that depressing qi to antiasthma, dispelling wind-evil phlegm are the foudamental method of treatment in attack period.,and tonifing lung and kidneny, dispelling wind-evil and dissipating phlegm are the foudamental method of treatment in remission period. The author introduces the distinct drug to bronchial asthma such as Ephedra herb,、Perilla frutescens、Xanthium sibiricum Pat、Bombyx batryticatus、Buthus、 Scolopendra mutilans、pinelliae tuber、white mustard seed、Chinese honeylocust abnormal fruit and so on.At the end of this section, the author selecting some typical clinical case on ZhouZhongYing clinical process in order to analysis instruction of professor ZhouZhongYing academic thought.The attached paper reviewes the situation of treatment of steroid-resistant asthma.
