The Research On The Professional Ethics Education Of Medical Students In The View Of Traditional Chinese Medical Morals

TASK: To discuss the influence of Chinese traditional medical morals in theprofessional ethics education of medical students; to enlarge the content of theprofessional ethics education of medical students and further improve accordingly; tobring positive effect to professional ethics in the whole medical service industry.APPROACHES: Documental Analysis: on the basis of reading large amount of Chinesetraditional medical works, summarize the basic concept, feature, limitation;comparative analysis: to compare the similarities and differences between Chinesemedical morals and western counterparts. Results: main concept of Chinese traditionalmedical morals: sense of value: medicine is benevolent science; sense of life: lifetreasures most; sense of profession: A great doctor honors true efficacy and honesty;sense of doctor-patient relationship: universal equality; sense of medical practice:prudence comes first; main features: emphasis the unified combination of medicine andmedical morals; emphasis the self-discipline; value justice above material gains;limitations: fatalism, less emphasis to heteronomy; less concern to social function ofmedicine; few mention to patients’ right; main effects: benevolence is the main theme ofprofessional education; may help medical students form positive career goals; may helpmedical students to form self-discipline; may help medical students form correct sense ofvalue. The relationship between Chinese traditional medical morals and professionaleducation of medical students: first, Chinese traditional medical morals may providecertain aim, content and environment to professional education, second, professionaleducation can be the way and tool to develop, carry on traditional medical morals;SUGGESTIONS: to enhance Chinese traditional medical morals, and strengthen themedical humanistic education; to open public elective course of Chinese traditional medical culture; to enhance Chinese traditional medical morals in the whole medicaleducation; to open certain web sites for the regards of promotion of Chinese traditionalmedical morals.
