Western medicine thinks the disease complex, including the internal cause and external cause, internal cause including visceral system disorders, diet, emotional, external factors including season, temperature etc. Western medicine generally give oral antihistamines, calcium, topical steroids, have a certain effect, but the antihistamines and hormone drugs have certain side effects, but patients easily repeatedly. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that the cause of this disease for the elderly liver and kidney deficiency, blood deficiency, wind, cold, hot, wet, dry, fire evil invasion of skin, and blood to wrestle on muscle surface, dry skin, causing itching. Chinese general to Chinese medicine Yangxue Qufeng, Chushi Zhiyang, blood cooling and other treatment, curative effect and experience. In this experiment we observed by Siwu Decoction drug and pruritus in patients with symptoms, signs and recurrence of Siwu Decoction to verify the treatment of senile skin pruritus curative effect and side reaction, for later clinical application to provide evidence.Methods:collected observational case comes from2009January-2011February in Hubei Provincial Traditional Chinese Medical Hospital dermatology outpatients.100patients were randomly divided into two groups. The two groups in gender, age, course of disease and other aspects were analyzed statistically, P>0.05, there were no significant differences, with comparable. The treatment group50cases, give Siwu Decoction (from angelica, Radix Paeoniae Alba, Rhizoma Chuanxiong, radix rehmanniae, Schizonepeta, windproof, white fresh skin and drug composition), a dailylagent, Shuijianbi, divided and take2times,3weeks forl courses of treatment, after1courses of treatment to evaluate the curative effect.50cases in the control group were given oral diphenhydramine,5mg, once a day, before bedtime,3week for a course of treatment, after1courses of treatment efficacy evaluation. During treatment, the two groups were not using drugs, during treatment with acrimony stimulation and fish shrimp and other food, drink plenty of water, eat more fruits and vegetables, not to smoke, drink, do not use soap and hot water. After three months of follow-up observation of patients relapse.Results:1the comparison of the two groups, the treatment group total effective rate was94%, total effective rate was70%in control group, two groups were compared, the difference is significant (P<0.01), effect of the treatment group is superior to control group.2in two groups after the treatment of pruritus severity score comparison, with statistical significance (P<0.05), the treatment group was superior to control group.3in two groups after the treatment, symptoms of the total, the curative effect in treatment group than in control group (P<0.05), with statistical significance.4groups of two recurrence rate in the total, through statistical analysis, P<0.05, the curative effect in treatment group was superior to the control group, with statistical significance.Conclusion:this research, Siwu Decoction on the treatment of senile skin pruritus was more effective than the control group by group, the curative effect is satisfied, the recurrence rate is little, little side effect, is worth the clinical promoted.
