Objectives:To investigate the status quo of the human caring capacity of nursingundergraduates and to analyze related factors so as to put forward strategies forcultivating nursing undergraduates’ caring ability. In order to have implications onhuman caring education for teachers, aimed to provide a reference and guidance forthe human caring capacity of nursing undergraduates.Methods:Use the method of documentary research to do human caring ability oftheoretical research and literature analysis. Caring Ability Inventory (CAI), PeerCaring Measurement (PCM), the self-designed demographic and professionalthinking questionnaires were used to investigate nursing undergraduates in threegrades from two nursing schools, by cluster sampling. Descriptive analysis,usingT-test F-test, one-way ANOVA, Spearman correlation analysis and multiple linearregression by the SPSS17.0.Results:1. The average of nursing undergraduates’ human caring capacity is4.72±0.49.Each aspect is unbalance, the score of patience is the highest, respect is in the middle,and courage is the last.2. Ability differences about human caring of nursing undergraduates show on thedifferent demographic variables: the human caring capacity of female nursingundergraduates was significantly higher than the males, the human caring capacity ofthe younger is better than the older.3. Ability differences about human caring of nursing undergraduates show on family environment: human caring is better express that the nursing studentsrelationships with mothers and families is better than with fathers.4. Ability differences about human caring of nursing undergraduates show onstate of mind: human caring is better express that professional thought is the morestable, the more focus on humanities courses and the more confident.5. Ability differences about human caring of nursing undergraduates show oneducational environment: human caring of nursing undergraduates of lower grades isbetter than the higher, human caring of nursing undergraduates of better relationshipwith classmates is better than which is worse.6. Standardized regression equation of human caring ability of nursingundergraduates is: human caring ability of nursing undergraduates=0.446*theinfluences of nursing humanities curriculum knowledge of their careerconcept+0.302*helping care+0.197*family relations+0.119*the interest of nursingprofession.Conclusions:1. Caring Ability Inventory of this research revised have better believable andeffecting, could be used to the evaluation study of human caring ability of nursingundergraduates.2. This study found that Individual factors, family factors, peer factors, as well astheir professional thought of nursing undergraduates in human caring ability whichhad an important impact to provide support and evidence on educating in the future.
