Background:The cultivation of caring ability of nursing students has become the core of the nursing education reform.The present studies are very plain on the caring ability of nursing students in the secondary nursing schools.But with the diversification of education modes,the students in the secondary nursing schools are variegated,including the students who will enter the job market after graduation,and the students who is going to enter nursing vocational college,and the students who is going to enter medical university for further study.The secondary vocational nursing students are in younger age of the formation of outlook on life and values,and the development of their caring ability are more worthy of attention.It is necessary to study the caring ability and the influencing factors on the students in the secondary nursing schools now.Objective:To investigate the status quo of the nursing student' s caring ability in the secondary nursing schools in Beijing,and to analyze the influencing factors of caring ability of nursing students in the secondary vocational schools in Beijing.Methods:Questionnaire survey.The questionnaire consisted of six sections:the part on general situation and family status of nursing students,the part on care education in nursing schools,Caring Ability Inventory(CAI),the CFK School Climate Inventory,Peer Caring Measurement(PCM),Parental Bonding Instrument(PBI).The convenience sampling survey was conducted to 468 nursing students in grade three of four nursing schools in Beijing between March and May,2017.The results of the investigation were inputted by SPSS 17.0.After the distribution of variables was determined,the difference of caring ability of nursing students with different characteristics was analyzed by t test and single factor analysis,and the relationship between variables was analyzed by correlation analysis.The significant independent variables in the correlation analysis were incorporated into the multiple linear regression model.The influencing factors of nursing students' caring ability were clarified.Results:The average CAI score of students was(175.47±18.770).There was no difference in caring ability of nursing students with different gender,age,nationality and religious beliefs,but there were differences in caring ability among nursing students of different education modes.The scores of caring ability of nursing students in the nursing schools of Beijing were significantly correlated with school climate,care education,peer care(r was 0.315,0.198,0.380;P<0.01).The scores of caring abilities of nursing students were significantly correlated with the different family atmosphere,maternal care and paternal care(r was0.186,0.159,0.134;P<0.01).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that school climate,peer care,the different family atmosphere explained 16.5%of the total variation of caring ability of the nursing students.Conclusions:The caring ability of nursing students in the secondary vocational schools in Beijing is lower than that of nursing students in vocational colleges,and in medical universities;School climate,peer care,the different family atmosphere were the main factors that influenced the students' caring ability.
