BackgroundHypertension is a common cardiovascular disease, which could lead to coronary heart disease and cerebral apoplexy. Hypertension includes primary hypertension and secondary hypertension. With the rising incidence, primary hypertension has done serious harm to the health of our people recently. Moreover, the patients with primary hypertension in grade Ⅱ would be easy to get coronary heart disease and cerebral apoplexy, because of their blood is in high viscosity, high aggregation, and high precipitation, etc. And hyperactivity of the liver yang is familiar in the TCM syndrome differentiation of primary hypertension. So that, the clinical research on hyperactivity of the liver yang in grade Ⅱ primary hypertension is significant.ObjectiveBy observing the reliability, curative effect of blood pressure and symptoms; the study aims to confirm that:adjuvant treatment for hyperactivity of the liver yang in grade Ⅱ primary hypertension by pasting with chinese herbal medicine is reliable, also effective in reducing the blood pressure and improving the clinical symptoms. Go to supply evidence for the application of the adjuvant treatment by pasting with chinese herbal medicine.MethodsThe study was run by prospective randomized contrast method. There are60cases among the research, which were divided into treatment group and control group equally by randomized method. The treatment group was treated by pasting with chinese herbal medicine and swallowing Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazide tablets, while the control group was treated by swallowing Irbesartan Hydrochlorothiazide tablets only. The treatment course is four weeks. Go to observe the reliability, curative effect of blood pressure and symptoms in the two groups.ResultsThe results of the comparison between before treatment and after treatment in the treatment group, shows that:(1)There are no significant differences in glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, blood potassium, blood sodium, blood uric acid, blood urea, blood creatinine, etc(P>0.05).(2)There are significant differences in cholesterol, triglyceride, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, vertigo, headache, irritability, flushed face, hot eyes, thirst, bitter taste, constipation, red urine, dysphoria, tinnitus, insomnia and amnesia, waist sour and knee soft, total symptomatic score, etc(P<0.05).The results of the comparison between before treatment and after treatment in the control group, shows that:(1)There are no significant differences in glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, blood potassium, blood sodium, blood uric acid, blood urea, blood creatinine, cholesterol, triglyceride, vertigo, bitter taste, constipation, tinnitus, insomnia and amnesia, waist sour and knee soft, etc(P>0.05).(2)There are significant differences in systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, headache, irritability, flushed face, hot eyes, thirst, red urine, dysphoria, total symptomatic score, etc(P<0.05).The results of the comparison between treatment group and control group before treatment, shows that:there are no significant differences in age, gender proportion, safety value, blood pressure value, symptomatic score, etc(P>0.05).The results of the comparison between treatment group and control group after treatment, shows that:(1)There are no significant differences in glutamic-pyruvic transaminase, blood potassium, blood sodium, blood uric acid, blood urea, blood creatinine, diastolic blood pressure, flushed face, hot eyes, etc(P>0.05).(2)There are significant differences in cholesterol, triglyceride, systolic blood pressure, pulse pressure, vertigo, headache, irritability, thirst, bitter taste, constipation, red urine, dysphoria, tinnitus, insomnia and amnesia, waist sour and knee soft, total symptomatic score, etc(P<0.05).(3) There are significant differences in the symptomatic efficacy rate of vertigo, headache, irritability, thirst, bitter taste, constipation, red urine, dysphoria, tinnitus, insomnia and amnesia, waist sour and knee soft, etc(P<0.05).(4) The curative effect of blood pressure in treatment group is better than the control group’s (P<0.05).(5) The curative effect of symptom in treatment group is also better than the control group’s (P<0.05).ConclusionAccording to the results of the study, we can conclude that:(1)The treatments of treatment group and control group for the patients with hyperactivity of the liver yang in grade II primary hypertension are reliable, also effective in reducing blood pressure and improving clinical symptoms.(2)Adjuvant treatment for hyperactivity of the liver yang in grade II primary hypertension by pasting with chinese herbal medicine; could effectively decrease the patients’systolic blood pressure, pulse pressure; improve their clinical symptoms of vertigo, headache, irritability, thirst, bitter taste, constipation, red urine, dysphoria, tinnitus, insomnia and amnesia, waist sour and knee soft; and reduce their cholesterol and triglyceride.
