Prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc(LIDP) is the main reason of the limited mobility of middle-aged waist. With the development of modern society and people’s lives change in the way, the incidence of lumbar disc herniation is getting younger and younger, elevated incidence of characteristics. Therefore, to strengthen lumbar disc herniation clinical research, and explore a shorter course of treatment method has an important practical significance.ObjectiveTo observe the overhang traction combined with electro-acupuncture treatment of LIDP clinical efficacy, and compare with the horizontal electric traction combined with electro-acupuncture in treating LIDP. This research is in order to improve the clinical efficacy and provide a basis for the preferred method of clinical treatments.Methods60cases of LIDP patients were randomly divided into the overhang traction combined with electro-acupuncture group (treatment group), and lumbar electric traction combined with electro-acupuncture group (control group), each group of30cases. The treatment group:to do acupuncture therapy at first, acupoint selection:basic points:Yao Jiaji point, Yao yangguan, Huan Tiao and Yang Lingquan, which of cold-dampness type added Hegu, blood stasis type added Geshu acupoint and syndrome of deficiency of liver and kidney added San Yinjiao. Then did the introduction of overhang traction treatment. Control group: Electro-acupuncture was ibid, and then did the introduction of electric traction. Once a day,10times as a treatment course. Two groups of patients were scored at first before treatment, after2courses of treatment, assess the patients again with the modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association of low back pain score (M-JOA), visual analogue scale (VAS) score, and the assessment of the clinical efficacy of TCM symptoms, for comprehensive evaluation of its clinical efficacy.ResultsThe clinical recovery rate of treatment group was82.1%, and effective rate96.4%. The control group s clinical efficacy rate was57.1%, and efficiency of89.3%. By the chi-square test, two groups of patients s clinical efficiency has no obvious difference (P>0.05). But the recovery rate of treatment group and control group, the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05), which illustrates that the overhang traction combined with electro-acupuncture’s clinical curative effect in the treatment of LIDP is obviously superior to the lumbar electric traction combined with electro-acupuncture group. Using VAS for the two groups of patients before and after treatment, two groups of patients VAS scores decreased after treatment, with significant difference before and after treatment in the two groups, both of which were effective (P<0.01). After2treatment courses, comparision of the treatment group s VAS score decreased significantly than the control group (P<0.01), which indicates the treatment group is more effective than the control group to improve the efficacy of pain in patients with waist symptom. By the modified Japanese Orthopaedic Association of low back pain score (M-JOA score),after two treatment courses, the treatment group^s score was significantly higher than the control group, which suggests the treatment group was superior to control group in improving the symptoms and function of LIDP.ConclusionThe combination of overhang traction and electro-acupuncture in treating LIDP can quickly relieve patients’s low back and leg pain, and the other symptoms. The therapy is simple, and relatively safe. Meanwhile, it has no iatrogenic injury. The comprehensive therapy for treatment of LIDP not only alleviates patients pain symptoms caused by nerve compression, and corrects lumbar facet joint dislocation, but also gives consideration to soft tissue damage. So this therapy can achieve the goal that treat both principal and secondary aspect of this disease. In conclusion, this therapy optimizes the combination of overhang traction therapy and electro-acupuncture that is worthy of clinical application.
