Studies On Flavonoids Of Scorzonera Austriaca Wittd

Studies on Flavonoids of Scorzonera austriaca Willd.The Scorzonera austriaca Willd., perennial herb of Compositae, is widely distributed in the northeast and northwest region of China. As a medicine herb, Scorzonera austriaca Willd. was widely used for curing fever, carbuncle and mastitis. But there are few research reports about its chemical constituents and the pharmacological activities. In order to develop and make full use of this plant resources, the chemical constituents of the plant were studied in this paper, which is mainly about the isolation and the structural identification of the flavonoids.This paper includes several parts as follows:1. Referring to the related literature, we reviewed the latest research progress of Scorzonera austriaca Willd. in chemical constituents, pharmacological activities and so on.2. Scorzonera austriaca Willd. was extracted with ethanol, isolated with the silica gel column chromatography, ODS column chromatography and HPLC. Four compounds: I, II, III, IV were obtained.3. By physicochemical property and spectral analysis methods, the four compounds were identified as:5,7,4’-trihydroxy-flavonoid-8-C-P-D-glucopyranosyl,(I),5,7,4’-trihy-droxy-flavonoid-6-C-a-L-arabinosyl-8-C-β-D-glucopyranosyl,(â…¡),5,7,3’,4’-tetrahydroxy-flavonoid-6-C-a-L-arabinosyl-8-C-β-D-glucopyranosyl,(â…¢),5,7,3’,4’-tetrahydroxy-flav-onoid-6-C-[β-D-xylopyranosyl (1â†'2)]-β-D-glucopyranosyl,(IV). These four compounds are all flavonoids, which were first isolated from this plant.
