Objective: To explore the correlation of depresstion and Cerebral bloodflow for patients with lumbar intervertebral disc (LDH) using TrancranialDoppler.Observate the differences of indexs of the two group of subjects‘smiddle cerebral artery and anterior cerebral artery’s blood flow.To explorewhether the changes in blood flow velocity can make to be an objectiveindicators of depression. To evaluate the effection on lumbar intervertebral discherniation (LDH) in patients with psychological and somatic diseases. Methods: Select100cases who was diagnosised of lumbar intervertebraldisc herniation, male45patients, female55patients. According to theclassification of mental disorders and diagnosis standard the third edition of theobstacles to depression diagnosis criteria, Zung depression of the self ratingscale (SDS) rating of LDH patients, according to the diagnosis standard andSDS score will prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc patients for depressiongroup and control group (not depressed group). Using ultrasonic transcranialdoppler flow analyzer (TCD) to check the two groups in brain artery and theanterior cerebral arteries of the state of the cerebral blood flow, record the Vp,Vd, Vm, PI, RI, S/D value, analysis the cerebral blood flow state differences ofindex between the depression group and control group. Results: The results of LDH patients depression rate reached33%;Depression of the group in the brain artery the mean blood flow velocity(66±10.01) higher than those in the control group (59±6.16).Two groups ofmiddle cerebral artery mean blood velocity have significant difference (P <0.05); Depression before the group of brain artery the mean blood flowvelocity (47±8.75) higher than those in the control group (44±4.65).Two groups of anterior cerebral artery mean blood velocity also have difference (P<0.05) in LDH patients; depression of mean cerebral blood velocity is higherthan that of non depression patients. Vp, Vd value individual differences in thestatistical treatment was not found to have meaning, PI, RI, S/D and also haveno statistical significance. Conclusion: LDH depression obstacle is evident, and depressiondisorders may make brain the mean blood flow velocity increased. However, this test of the selection is a small sample sizes, and lumbar intervertebraldisc herniation of the patients have the diversity of the individual situation, such as prolapse of lumbar intervertebral disc the clinical manifestations ofdifferent forms and subjects including personality differences; In addition, onlythe internal carotid artery system’s main artery blood brain artery and theanterior cerebral arteries are being tested, not concluding of vertebrobasilararteries supply of blood system, and we can’t make sure the interaction betweenblood artery. So,Whether transcranial doppler ultrasound can reflect depressiondisorders of the brain changes in blood flow needs a large number of clinicalexperiment.
