[Objective]1To investigate the common scenarios of nurse-patient conflict occuring in obstetrics of Hangzhou Normal University Affiliated Hospital.2To develop the communication Guide for students nurses and the questionnaire on the communication ability of students nurses to deal with nurse-patient conflict.3To analyze the difference of communication ability to deal with nurse-patient conflict between the control group and the experimental group4To provide a intuitional and effective means of communication for nursing interns to make them be able to give quick and correct reaction when facing the scenario of nurse-patient conflict, and so that are able to quickly adapt to the clinical care.[Methods]The study was done under three stages:Stage one:70scenarios were collected when nurse-patient conflict most likely occurred by interviewing twenty obstetrics nurses and screened36scenarios which was occurred more than twice.Stage two:1) The36scenarios were assigned to excellent three-star nursing interns and carried out collection activities for feasible solutions to the conflict scenarios, and350 items of communication models were collected. Through the three-round screening, modification, we have developed A Communication Guide Manual for nursing interns in Scenario of Nurse-Patient Conflict, and bound it up.2) Based on the screened36scenarios, adding some general information, we formed the a Questionnaire on the Communication Ability of nursing interns to deal with Nurse-Patient Conflict and tested the validity and reliability of the Questionnaire.Stage three:The practicability of the Communication Guide Manual were surveyed for nursing interns in Scenario of Nurse-Patient Conflict.100nursing interns from Hangzhou Normal University Affiliated Hospital were selected as the objects of study and randomly divided into the control group (n=50) and the experimental group (n=50). All participants completed the Questionnaire on the Communication Ability of nursing interns to deal with Nurse-Patient Conflict. Then, besides routine practice, the Communication Guide Manual distributed to the participants in experimental group and guided them to conduct simulation training for an hour every day. The training lasted2weeks. While the control group were not available to communication guide manual. Two weeks later, the nursing interns were asked in experimental group to teach themselves. A month later, the two groups’communication ability were respectively measured by the same questionnaire. And the two group nursing interns were respectively measured by the questionnaire of the evaluation of nurse-patient communication ability.[Results]1A survey have been made on the common scenario of nurse-patient conflict in obstetrics of Hangzhou Normal University Affiliated Hospital.2The Communication Guide Manual for nursing interns in Scenario of Nurse-Patient Conflict was developed, which included communication principles and2communication examples in every scenario for student nurses to refer to.3Nursing interns’score of communication ability to deal with nurse-patient conflict was in low level, the score of conflict due to the hospitalization costs was highest and the score of conflict due to doctors and nurses was lowest.4There was statistical significance between the experiment group and the control group in communication ability when nurse-patient conflict happened (p<0.01).The experiment group nersing interns better than the contril group on nurse-patient communication ability (p<0.01).[Conclusions]The Communication Guide Manual for nursing interns in Scenario of Nurse-Patient Conflict which was developed from the clinical investigation could help nursing interns adapt the clinical care better and more quickly. Under the guidance of the Communication Guide Manual, nursing interns can calmly and correctly solve the conflict and prevent the conflict becoming acute when confronting some common scenario of nurse-patient conflict. The adaptability to changes of nursing interns are improved which lay a good foundation for finishing clinical practice.
