Objective:To assess the efficacy, safety and stability of these eyes which underwent implantation of Toric implantable collamer lens (Toric ICL) to correct high myopia with astigmatism. Methods:This study enrolled15eyes of8patients with high myopia and astigmatism who underwent Toric ICL implantation. The preoperative manifest spherical refraction was-13.72±2.71D and the preoperative refractive cylinder,-3.15±1.08D. All eyes were followed up at1day,1week,1month and3months, postoperatively. The examinations included uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), slitlamp examination, fundus examination, refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP), endothelial cell count (ECC), central cornea thickness (CCT), the Toric ICL-lens space (vault), cylinder axis of the Toric ICL. Results:Compared with preoperation, the spherical refraction decreased from (-13.72±2.71) D to (-0.37±0.88) D (P<0.01), and the manifest refractive cylinder decreased from(-3.15±1.08)D to(-0.57±0.45)D(P<0.01). Compared preoperatively, UCVA was increased from (3.48±0.10)(5-logMAR) to (4.84±0.14)(5-logMAR)(P<0.01), and BCVA was increased from (4.84±0.14)(5-logMAR)to(4.95±0.10)(5-logMAR)3months after surgery, respectively. IOP, ECC and the CCT did not changed3months after surgery (P>0.05). The average degree of Toric ICL cylinder axis rotation was (3.4±1.5)°.1eye (6.7%) had a transient elevation of IOP,2eyes (13.3%)occurred glare and1eye(6.7%)developed asymptomatic subcapsular opacity. No cases had pupillary block, pigment dispersion, endophthalmitis and other complications. Conclusion:Toric ICL implantation showed the efficacy, safety and stability in correcting high myopia with astigmatism during follow-up duration. Further observation is necessary for more assessment.
