According to statistics, 50 percent of blind people in the world caused by the cataract, As the extension of life expectancy, the proportion is still growing. Visual rehabilitation after cataract surgery and visual quality is receiving increasing attention of patients and ophthalmologists, How to make the cataract patients with good visual quality of the project has become the new challenges. Surgical removal of lens opacity is the only effective treatment. With the improvement of people's living standards and development of science and technologue, Cataract surgery and intraocular lens implantation has developed to a refractive surgery from a simple surgery. With the birth of Toric intraocular lens, the status of the cornea astigmatism of patients has been improved, so that cataract patients with corneal astigmatism get a better visual effects, improved quality of life of patients.Purpose:Comparing postoperative Pseudophakic visual function in patients with status and subjective satisfaction after phacoemulsification combined Toric intraocular lens implantation (Acrysof Toric) or non-spherical intraocular lens (Acrysof SA60WF), make an evaluation of the postoperative clinical results and the application value of Toric intraocular lens.Methods:Twenty-one eyes of 18 patients received the Toric IOL after cataract extraction as a Toric group. Choose thirty-four eyes of 30 patients in the same period received Aspheric intraocular lens implantation (SA60WF)after cataract extraction as a control group. Comparing the two groups atsix months after surgery in patients with distance vision (the naked eye vision, best corrected distance vision), rotation stability of Toric intraocular lens, degree of residual cylinder, in patients with satisfaction with postoperative visual function and symptoms of adverse visual and the dependence on glasses.RESULTS:All patients during follow-up there was no significant postoperative complications. Six months after surgery, mean post-operative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) for distance of patients in Toric group is 4.7286±0. 1793, and is 4.588±0. 1694 in The control group. There is a significant difference in the mean post-operative uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) between the two group t=4. 5724, t (0. 05) =0. 0000, P<0. 05. Mean best corrected distance visual acuity of patients in Toric group is 4.8429±0. 1363, (range 4. 6~5. 0); and it is 4.7765±0.1577, (range 4.4~5.0) in the control group. There was no significant difference in the mean best corrected distance vision between the groups. (t=1. 5951,P=0.1166, P<0.05). There was significant difference in the mean accuracy of I0L Axis between 1 week and one month postoperatively, P=2.9609, t=0.0077. There was significant difference in the mean accuracy of I0L Axis between one month and three months postoperatively, P=2. 6093, t=0. 0168. There was no significant difference in the mean accuracy of IOL Axis between three months and six months postoperatively, P=1.7056, t=0. 1036. Comparing degree of residual cylinder preoperative and postoperative Toric intraocular lens implantation, there was significant difference, P=0. 0005. Therefore they consider that there are differences between the results of the two groups, the difference was statistically significant. Six months after the surgery, test results Of two groups of patients of satisfaction with uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) , best corrected distance visual acuity, the adverse visual symptoms is x2=2. 4774, p=0. 1155; x2=4. 93, p=0. 0264; x2=1. 2918 p=0. 2575. It is shown that adverse visual symptoms in Toric group is higher than the other, but there is no statistical significance; Satisfaction with uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA) in Toric group is far higher than the other; Satisfaction with best corrected distance visual acuity in two groups is simple; dependence on glasses, the patients of toric group was significantly less than the control group.CONCLUSION:Comparing with the implantation of Acrysof SA60WF IOL, the implantation of Acrysof Toric intraocular lens for cataract patients with corneal astigmatism will provide them with better uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), less dependence on glasses and the better quality of life of patients.
