Purpose:To evaluate the efficacy, safety and predictability after phakic posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation in high myopia with low astigmatism. Methods:This study collected50eyes of30patients undergoing implantable contact lens (ICL) implantation at the eye center of second hospital affiliated to Zhejiang university during July2014to November2014.Uncorrected visual acuity (UCVA), best corrected visual acuity (BCVA), manifest refraction, intraocular pressure, higher order aberrations (HOAs), irregular index were measured and recorded preoperatively and at1week,1month and3month postoperatively for each eye. Statistical data were analyzed using SPSS19.0software, results were considerd significant when P<0.05. Results:At3month postoperatively,24eyes’ BCVA are reach to preoperative BCVA (48%).26eyes BCVA are better than preoperative BCVA (52%).22eyes’UCVA are reach to preoperative BCVA (44%).26eyes UCVA are better than preoperative BCVA (52%).Only2eyes’ UCVA are worse than preoperative BCVA (4%).3month postoperatively,44eyes manifest refraction are within±0.5D expected diopter (88%).Cylinder was no statistically significant difference between pre-and postoperative (p=0.077). Intraocular pressure was no statistically significant difference between pre-and postoperative (p=0.091). There was no statistically significant difference of all mean higher order aberrations (HOAs) values at3month postoperatively compared with preoperative (p>0.05). There was no statistically significant difference of3mm zone irregualr values and5mm zone irregualr values at3month postoperatively compared with preoperative (p>0.05). No anterior capsule opacification occurred during the follow-up.Conclusions:ICL posterior chamber phakic intraocular lens implantation appears to be an effective, safe, predictable method to correct high myopia with low astigmatism and can bring us better visual performance.
