Background and Purpose:Lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage is to point to the duodenum and jejunum transitionalMinistry Treitz ligament bowel bleeding, which can come from the small intestine, colonand rectum. It may show unexplained black stool, abdominal pain, anemia. It can be acuteonset, and because of bleeding leading to shock, while it is a acute and severe disease. While LGIH have a complex causes, clinical diagnosis is more difficult. To understand thecause of LGIH characteristics,562cases in our hospital from January2001to December2010with lower gastrointestinal bleeding with complete data were retrospectively analyzedto study of LGIH the causes constitute and related factors,in oder to guild the clinicalphysicians to have deeper understanding of lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage, guideclinicians to make faster and more judgments, develop rational clinical intervention toimprove prognosis and reduce mortality, benefit for patients with health education to reducethe morbidity and recurrence rate.Materials and Methods:562hospitalized patients in this study were selected from our hospital with Lowergastrointestinal hemorrhage from January2001to December2010,among338are male and224are female. Patients were divided into three groups according to different age,Including62cases of children (≤14years old),259cases of the young and middle-aged group (15~59years),241cases of the elderly group (≥60years).Accompanied by symptoms ofabdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, abdominal mass and anemia. The clinical manifestationsof melena, hematochezia. Take a retrospective analysis of562cases of lower gastrointestinalhemorrhage in patients with etiology, age, gender, mortality, inspection methods.Result:1. Overall cause of composition Data in the562cases of lower gastrointestinalbleeding, tumors122cases,inflammatory bowel disease112cases, polyps88cases,perianal disease65cases, Hemorrhagic enteritis21cases, ischemic bowel disease37cases,Meckel’s diverticulum30cases, latrogenic injury21cases, systemic disease25cases, vascular malformations18cases, intussusception6cases,Obscure gastrointestinal bleeding17cases. The top three accounted for the overall cause of cancer, inflammatory boweldisease, polyps.2. In this group, three groups of patients in the etiology constitute have a significantdifference (P <0.05). In the children group, the first cause is Meckel’s diverticulum. In theyoung and middle-aged, the first is the inflammatory bowel disease. In the elderly group, thefirst cause is tumors. On the first cause, the three groups compared with the other two groupsare significant differences(P<0.05).By this group of statistical data analysis, the causes ofLower gastrointestinal hemorrhageand age have a close relationship.3. In this group ofpatients, the number of male and female incidence ratio is1.51:1(338:224), males with ahigh incidence in female. The constitute ratio of male and female have no significantdifferences (P>0.05).4.In this group, lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage deaths14/562cases, the fatality rate was2.5%.The older group of10/241,4.1%; non-elderly group5/341cases, accounting for1.5%. Group differences (P <0.05) in this group, a total of135cases(56%) the merger coexisting diseases, non-elderly group,21.2%with coexisting diseases ofthe elderly group respectively, there were significant differences.5.In this group,362caseshave been diagnosed by colonoscopy, accounting for64.4%.comprehensive capsuleendoscopy, Double-balloon enterscopy, surgical instruments and means of imaging diagnosisrate was92.3%.Conclusion:1. tumors, inflammatory bowel disease, polyps are the three major causes of lowergastrointestinal hemorrhage. In this group of patients, the children, the young andmiddle-aged,and the elderly group in the composition of the causes have a significantdifference (P <0.05). Tumor is in the elderly group, inflammatory bowel disease is in theyoung and middle-aged, Meckel’s diverticulum is in children’s group, which are thefirst cause.Which were higher than the other two groups, there is a significant difference.Incidence of lower gastrointestinal hemorrhage in male was significantly than female, Theconstitute ratio of male and female has no significant differences (P>0.05).2.Colonoscopy is the main means of diagnosis of lower gastrointestinal bleeding, comprehensive use of capsule endoscopy, colonoscopy, imaging tests and surgical means, can improve the diagnosis rate of lower gastrointestinal bleeding.
