Ocotillol-type Ginsenoside was first discovered in Panax quinquefolium L.,It is thecharacteristic ingredient in Panax quinquefolium L.,which is a plant of Araliaceae Panaxperennial herbs,Originating in North America.They also can conduce toreinforcing qi andnourishing yin,get rid of deficiency heat and upset,nourishing the stomach and promote theproduction of body fluid to quench thirst.Usually used for lung asthenia and longcough,oropharynx aridity,upset insomnia,limbs fatigue,shortness of short breath and loss ofblood.In the chemical constituents of Panax quinquefolium saponins,the previous researchesmainly concentrated on protopanoxadiol type saponins and panaxatriol type saponins butfew Ocotillol-type saponins.In addition,Ocotillol-type Ginsenoside has low content in natureplant.Many Researches shows that Ocotillol-type Ginsenoside have various Pharmacologicalactivity:protect the cerebrovascular system and nervous system;Ocotillol-type Ginsenosidehave antagonism of morphine phsical;Promoting wisdom and preventing dementia.In orderto obtain the quantity of low content and high pharmacological activity monomerginsenosides,we prepared Ocotillol-type saponins by Dammarane-type saponins hydrolysiswith total ginsenosides from the leaves and stems of Panax quinquefolium L..In this thesis,we studied the alkaline-degradation of the total ginsenosides from theleaves and stems of Panax quinquefolium L..The reaction conditions of degradationincluding reaction temperature,time and alkalinity were discussed.With comlinatorial chemistry and oxidation cyclization,we prepared Ocotillol-typesaponins by Dammarane-type saponins hydrolysis with total ginsenosides from the leavesand stems of Panax quinquefolium L..Isolation and identification the Ocotillol-type Ginsenoside degradated from totalginsenosides from the leaves and stems of Panax quinquefolium L.10Ocotillol-typeGinsenosides and its related compounds were identified according to their physico-chemicalproperties and spectrum analysis.They are:Quinquen D(1),20(R)-Pseudo-ginsenoside F11(2),Pseudo-ginsenoside RT4(3),Pseudo-ginsenoside F11(4),Pseudo-ginsenoside RT5(5),24(R)-Ocotillol(6),24(S)-Ocotillol(7),dammarane-3β,12β,20(S),25-tetrol(8),24(R)-Pseudo-ginsenoside HQ(9),Pseudo-ginsenoside HQ(10). Among which Quinquen D is a new compound.Its structure is:22,23,24,25,26,27-deisohexyl-dammar-3β,12β,20-triol.
