Objective:To investigate the radical hysterectomy and ovarian transpositio-n for patients with ovarian function.Methods:Twenty-nine patients are or younger than forty-five years old with sta-ge â… A-â…¡A cervical carcinoma were treated with radical hysterectomy in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangxi Medical University from April2010to August2011. The twenty-nine patients were divided into study groups and control group according to whether to reserve the ovaries. Study group one includes fourteen patients who underwent bilateral ovarian transposition without radiotherapy. Study group two includes nine patients with radiotherapy after ovarian transposition. Control group includes six patients who underwent bilateral ovariectomy. Following up all of the patients in the third month and the sixth month after treatment, to investigate menopausal symptom and monitor the level of FSH and E2. The endocrinological function of ovaries were evaluated by statistics analyze Kupperman index and level of FSH and E2.Result:The result of the twenty-three patients who underwent ovarian transposition:(1) The patients without radiotherapy had normal endocrinological function of ovaries;(2)The patients with radiotherapy had ovarian failure. The difference of sex hormones between the study group one and two is statistically significant (P<0.05). The difference of sex hormones between the study group two and the control group is not statistically significant (P>0.05). The difference of Kupperman index between the study group two and the control group is not statistically significant (P>0.05), between the study group two and the study group one is statistically significant (P<0.05). The main reason of ovarian failure is the external irradiation of the pelvic cavity.Conclusions:(1) Young patients with cervical carcinoma with ovarian transposition can preserve ovarian function and improve the quality of life.(2) A prerequisite for preserving ovarian function is the action should be gentle in the ovarian transposition surgery, to avoid pulling ovaries and damaging the ovarian vessels and the tissue of the part where ovaries would be transposed to.(3) Mastering the method and position of ovarian transposition, and putting something sheltering the ovaries can reduce the damage of radiation on ovarian function. But to ensure that ovarian function is to maintain a higher level, the treatment should be further explored.
