Object: To study the relationship between the adrenalin and the delayed absorption ofsubretinal fluid after Scleral Buckling Surgery and to analyze the possible causes ofpersistent subretinal fluid. In order to shorten the absorption time after RRD surgery.Methods: Using case control method,we analysed44cases(45eyes) of RRD from theeye hospital of the second hospital of JiLin university during2009to2011. All the44patients underwent scleral buckling surgery (encircling procedures, Scleral bucklingsurgery,with or without drainage of subretinal),we used cryotherapy in all the patients.Theage of the cases is between18and70.And the average age is41.38±14.17.There are21malecases(22eyes) and23female cases(23eyes). The breaks were well closed, there were nonew breaks and there was no obvious PVR and the intraocular tension is normal afteroperation. All patients are fresh rhegmatogenous retinal detachment,the range of detachmentpreoperative is1.9±0.8quadrant.The SRF is absorbed between1day and6months.Thecases above did not experience the second operation and the reattachment of retina was goodduring the one year follow-up.According to the absorption time of the SRF,the cases weredivided into three groups-group A (the SFR was absorbed in three days)、B (the SFR wasabsorbed between three days and a month)and C(the SFR was absorbed over a month),thegroup B and C were regarded as "delayed absorption of subretinal fluid groups ".In the earlymorning,we collected the venous blood on an empty stomach and centrifuged it immediatelyand collected the serum and preserved it in-80℃for examination.After the specimencollection was over,we used the kit of biotinylated double-antibody sandwich enzyme-linkedimmunosorbent assay to determine the concentration of the adrenaline.The kit is fromShangHai JingTian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. All operations were strictly carried outaccording to kit instructions. After the data collection was completed,we used the SPSS16.0statistics software to analyse the data and arrived at the conclusion finally.Result:One day before surgery,the concentration of adrenaline is no difference ingroup B and group C.The adrenaline concentration is higher in group A than in group B andC,and there are significant differences.(2).In the1th day after operation, theconcentration of adrenaline of group A is lower than group B and group C, and there are significant differences. The concentration of adrenaline is no difference in group B andgroup C.(3) The concentration of adrenaline after operation, A group’s rising quantity ishigher than preoperative level, The concentration of adrenaline in group B and group C haveno difference in one day before surgery and the1th day after surgery.(4). There are nosignificant differences in the male group and the female one about the adrenalineconcentration from group B and C.Conclusions:1.The concentration of adrenalin in the blood have relationship with thesubretinal fluid absorption after scleral buckling. The concentration of adrenalin of one daybefore surgery and the1th day after surgery is higher in the patients who have slowerabsoption speed.2. According to the concentration of adrenaline about special types ofpeople in the blood before surgery may predict subretinal fluid absorption time afteroperation for Rhegatogenous Retinal Detachment.
