OBJECTIVE:According to reviewing their clinical data of the patients which werediagnosed chronic inflammatory demyellinating polyneuropathy(CIDP),to analysis clinicalmanifestations, the electeophysiological results, the biochemical results of cerebrospinal fluidand the treatment of CIDP,whether there is correlation between protein contents of CSF andclinical manifestation, and to summarize the clinical characteristics, the affects inf differenttreatments.METHODS AND MATERIALS:This research was retrospective study. There were25cases of clinical data searched from October2004to November2011in the first hospital ofJiLin university. The diagnosises of the patients were all consistent with The EuropeanFederation of Neurological Societies/Peripheral Nerve Society Guideline on management ofchronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy. The materials included generalinformation(gender、age and others),clinical indicators, the results of electrophysiologicaland biochemical test.RESULT:In the25patients,44%patients were male and56%were female. There were32%patients between41and50years old. There were3cases(12%) had a history ofrheumatism,and1cases (4%)had a history of diabetes.4cases(16%) had precursor factors.Inthe two types of this disease,56%was slow progressive type,44%was recurrence type.Themost common early symptom was involved with movement and sensorydysfunction(88%),symmetrical limb dysfunction(60%) was common, asymmetrical wasabout8%. Weakness of lower limbs was usually more serious than upper limbs, accountingfor47%,the myodynamia was more than two grades, accounting for92%. Respiratory muscleinvolved accounted for8%,both facial nerve accounted for8%,and antonomic nervoussymptoms appeared12%. Tendon reflexes nearly all of the patients diminished ordisappeared, Deep sensation involved appeared52%,Having a gloves and/or sock-likehypalgesia accounted64%,28%appeared muscle atrophy,and16%combined with centralnervous system symptoms. The protein of cerebrospinal fluid(CSF) were all increased, withan average of1.208g/L,and about70.8%revealed IgG in CSF rised. There were23patientswho completed electromyography, and all of the tests showed demyelinating changes, partinvolved axonal changes.According to the statistical analysis of the treatment, there werefour points:Firstly, no significant correlation between protein contents of CSF and Hughes scores.Secondly, corticosteroids and intravenous immunoglobulins were both effective, therewas no significant difference between the impact of the corticosteroids group andintravenous immunoglobulins group(P>0.05).Lastly,here was no significant differencebetween the impact of the group and corticosteroids with intravenous immunoglobulinsgroup(P>0.05).CONCLUSION:The clinical characteristics was in accord with reports, but there weresome others: the common types of disease was slow progressive type. There was nosignificant correlation between protein contents of CSF and clinical manifestation, andcorticosteroids is the first choice for CIDP patients.
