Objective (1) Discussion on psychological quality constituents of elite soldiers in armed police forces and builds a theoretical model;(2) Develop a screened scale of psychological quality for the Armed Police Force soldier (SPAPS) which is fit for the characteristics of the armed police forces;(3) Examined the reliability and validity of the SPAPS.Methods Through literature study, job analysis, questionnaire survey and other methods, we have constructed a theoretical model of the psychological qualities of the soldier in the Armed Police Force. According to the theoretical model, we have drafted out an original scale and test it. Based on the analysis of274valid data form the small sample test and combined with the results of the discussions of the experts in psychology and the Armed Police Force military personnel, we have determined the forecast scale for the large sample test. The effective sample sizes of952soldiers are male,30soldiers were re-tested after two weeks, also select30good soldiers and30ordinary soldiers by their leaders. Through Exploratory Factor Analysis to determine the scale structure; Confirmatory Factor Analysis, correlation analysis and t test were used to examine the reliability and validity of the scale. Results (1) Formal scale consists of37items, which includes6of polygraph subject.(2) Exploratory Factor Analysis of the items identified that the scale have7factors, explaining53.56%of the total variance respectively, named influential, initiative, adaptability, dedication, sense of responsibility, obedience, executive ability.(3) The result showed that the correlation coefficients of every items scores and total scores were0.331~0.595, there was a significant difference between the high and the low score group (p<0.01).(4) The test-retest reliability of total scale and subscales were0.930and0.864~0.942(p<0.01); The Cronbach’a coefficient were0.885and0.613~0.795(p<0.01).(5) The Confirmatory Factor Analysis results indicated that data with the theoretical model fitted better, χ2df:2.08, RMSEA:0.048, RMR:0.054, GFI:0.90, AGFI:0.87, NFI:0.92, CFI:0.96; the correlation coefficients between the7factors and total scale were0.584~-0.779(p<0.01), and the correlation coefficients off the7factors were0.230~0.535(p<0.01), also the scores of the excellent group were significantly higher than those of the general group (p<0.01).Conclusion The Exploratory Factor Analysis rests is basically the same as the theoretical idea, and the data has proved that the scale has good psychometric properties on reliability and validity; it can be used as a simple and useful scale for the psychological quality of training and soldier’s selection in the Armed Police Force.
