Objective To explore the relationship between serum25-hydroxyvitamin D level, intactparathyroid hormone levels and systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure among subjectsfree of hypertension.Methods271subjects free of hypertension were selected,male130,female141. Serum25(OH)D level were assayed by ELISA,iPTH level were assayed by ECLIA,and systolic anddiastolic blood pressure were measured by automatic upper arm digital sphygmomanometer, andage, sex, conventional biochemical(including TBIL、 Alb、 ALT、γ GT、 BUN、 Cr、BUA、TC、TG、HDL-C、LDL-C、FPG) test results were collected.Data were performedby SPSS software package.Results25(OH)D level was significantly associated with systolic (B=-0.220,beta=-0.204,P=0.001) and diastolic (B=-0.280,beta=-0.341,P=0.000)blood pressure. IPTH levelwas significantly associated with diastolic (B=0.071,beta=0.153,P=0.012)but not systolic (B=0.060,beta=0.097,P=0.109) blood pressure. Higher iPTH levels were associated with higherprevalence of prehypertension(OR1.796,95%CI0.898-3.593for the highest versus the lowestquartile),whereas25(OH)D showed reverse association(OR2.493,95%CI1.239-5.014for thelowest versus the highest quartile).Ajusted for known confounders such asage, gender, conventional biochemical test results,no significant change appeared. There was asignificant correlation between25(OH)D and iPTH(r=-0.273,P=0.000).Conclusion Low25(OH)D level and high iPTH level are potentially modifiable riskfactors of hypertension.Lower25(OH)D levels are significantly associated with higher iPTHlevels. To begin with correcting a low25(OH) D status may contribute to fundamentallycorrect their imbalance, thereby reducing the risk of hypertension.
