With the development of theoretical research and engineering practice inmedical informatics, the medical information technology has been widely used, and China’s medical and health services have also begun to enter the digitalera of information technology. However, in the country’s medical informationconstruction process, many problems are encountered. For example, thesharing of medical information has become a bottleneck restricting theconstruction of medical information. To solve the problem of medical information sharing, much effort must bemade from two aspects: the standardization of medical information andinformation systems interoperability. Medical reports as a record of patientmedical information (such as vital signs, case history, medical images, etc.), isof significant importance in the role of the medical information sharing. To solvethis problem, in this paper, a dedicated medical editor is designed anddeveloped, which realize the importing, exporting, and editing operations ofmedical reports document in XML format which support HL7interaction. It cannot only meet the standardization of medical information but also meet thedoctors’ basic functional requirements. It provides functions of medical editretaining traces, mainly used for future access to the contents of the reportgenerated in the course of medical treatment and making sure all modificationsis kept as evidence for medical practices. The medical editor realizes thefunction which can make the user read the standard DICOM format images inthe medical report directly, promoting the integration of the medical images andpure text reports. After integration test, the medical editor has been successfullyintegrated with existing PACS and EMR system, which is of good practicality.
