Along with the use of digital medical imaging equipments in hospitals in a wide range, it becomes more and more necessary to store, manage and share medical images as well as relevant data. So building PACS is a good idea. In this field, engineers in western countries studies more years than we did, and what restrict its development are technologies that correlated with DICOM and It is most important to realize reliable, stable and compatible communication among DICOM interfaces of medical imaging equipments. Meanwhile how to extract useful information from these original data to enhance diagnosis became another important technology.The thesis makes a study of an internationally accepted standard-DICOM, specially on Information Objection Define, Information Module, SOP, and Data Encoding. On the basis of analyzing communication procedure of DICOM completely, we have realized typical services of DICOM server.In order to satisfy the need of medical image analysis and process software and combine characteristic of the standard of DICOM, we define a image format called DV. Then we discuss the image format transfer from DICOM image format to DV image format, after that we have prepared data for image analysis process.At the end of thesis we make a study of Diffusion Tensor Image. The technology of Diffusion Tensor Image provide complete orientation description of structure of human organization, not only useful to study well structure and functions of human organization, but also useful to discover disease which affect continue of structure of organization.After the practical testing, DICOM server acts as acquisition server for images sent from imaging equipment; DV format which we define satisfy the need of image analysis process; Diffusion Tensor Image Analysis not only useful to study well structure and functions of human organization, but also useful to discover disease which affect continue of structure of organization.
