Landscape architecture (LA) is a multi-disciplinary field including planning, designing, construction, management and protection of man-made and natural outdoor areas. It dates back to ancient people planting and hunting in environed places, and has to fill the requirements of a new age now. It must participate in solving global problems such as climate warming, ecological unbalance, etc. and protecting natural and cultural resources for offering proper environment for human’s residing. LA is deficient in theory compared to practice as a comprehensive practical subject, which hinder it’s development in present age. Study of basic theory can solve problems of this subject and benefit the development of economy and society. This study offers a new way from ethics to research it’s thneory combining the characteristic of LA and historical background based on previous studies, which benefits the development of it’s theory and practice, helps forming the values and philosophical views of this subject and accomplishing the goal of "poetic-living" without alienation of technology.First this study gives a reflective discussion about the attribute of LA and describe the ethical conception of Heidegger’s "Poetic-living" and it’s great significance upon this filed in present age. Then it explains the conception of "Poetic-living" and ethics while it reveals two levels of original ethical implications of LA and the relationship between them. The first level of ethical implications is ethos which explains that LA places are concentrated by the heaven, the earth, the god, the human and are spiritual as well as physical. It means something existing in LA is more important than technology and art and it is "Poetic-living". The second level of ethical implications is moral responsibility which explains environmental ethics, artistic ethics, cultural ethics, social ethics, engineering ethics and professional ethics. It means dasein should protect being and contribute to the concentration of LA places. Last this paper gives the advantages and disadvantages of this study and discusses the prospects of LA’s theory.
