Designers usually consider the user’s age, cultural level and other aspects in their designs, in that gender differences are rarely taken into. Designers ignore human gender difference and deem the user as an undifferentiated, standard "person". Research indicates that there are different needs on space requirement for different gender caused by difference and inequality of gender, which is "gender deference space" when specifically in space using. And because male is dominating industries, city development always ignores the existence of gender deference space and the space requirement of different gender, influenced by "male principle" and "male standard"This dissertation combines relevant literatures and investigations, takes all types of green land in Xinhua Park of Chengdu as the research object, studies the difference of gender space in different green land of park through the methods of field observation, interview investigation, questionnaire survey, data statistics analysis on the basis of field survey. By research on gender difference and gender space among relevant filed, environmental behavior and environmental psychology, a preliminary understanding in current developing situation of gender space theory and gender space in city development space, and established research method. Architectural developments in the field, defines the research method. Study according to the" space requirements, factors affecting the planning strategy of" logical sequence, the investigation of different sex on the park within different spatial preference, different sex different space requirements, the demand for facilities, analysis of the impact of different gender space preference factors and city park design generally ignored in sex differences in the causes, put forward city park gender space design suggestions and strategy.Study found within the park, the existence of gender space division. At the same time, the different sex physiological differences, differences in personality, aesthetic differences, different conditions and different environment determine gender space preference are important factors. Finally the paper puts forward, should promote gender equality within the landscape industry structure, so that more women involved in the design, designers should take more account of gender differences in space differences in demand, truly people-oriented. At the same time the security status of existing park should be improved, including the lady’s room, open space, insufficient seats, inadequate shelters from the facilities, uneven road surface and environmental noise, etc.Because the issue of gender space is rarely involved in landscape design, and research on city park gender space is still in blank, gender differences in the design is neglected, there are large number of constructional gender inequality, even the users themselves are neglect their own requirements on gender space.
