The port is a national or the local foreign exchange portal. At the same time, it is animportant economic and trade exchanges places. Modern economy is inseparable from theinternational trade, and the international trade is inseparable from the port. In portconstruction climax, berth demand rises quickly; deep water berth wharf construction ismore and more popular. As the caisson construction condition and site storage limitations,mostly in the prefabricated factory prefabrication, the wet mop in sea shipment tens orhundreds, deposited in the construction site to be mounted, so every year a large number ofcaisson transportation, installation need. At present, the caisson transportation technologyand a variety of ways, some of the flat, vertical shift winch and slide mode of large caissontransportation and installation technology of water; some use floating dock sinking into thewater. There is little caisson by crane ship lifting water process. At the same time the weightof construction technology of caisson with actual situation and the need to increase, thecurrent domestic precast caisson from the weight of hundreds of tons to thousands of tons ofgradual development. Caisson weight increase is beneficial to large port structure is stablebut the hoisting, transportation and installation caused certain difficulty.Basing on the structural characteristics of the caissons and its construction conditions inthe Guangxi Fangchenggang Steel Base Pier Project, this paper mainly introduces theprefabrication method by sliding mode, shipping method by airbag, hauling method bysemi-submersible, installation method by floating crane and caisson help surfaced locatingmethod by dual GPS technologies. In the engineering construction, two innovative measuresare taken. One is making the caisson double corbel variable cross-section in a time throughthe lined mold method, which avoids the the upper2.5m added caissons. The other one isforcing in advance with semi-submersible barge floating crane after a certain depth. The twomeasures solve the problems of caisson installation poor stability and resource constraints,and provide a strong guarantee for the successful completion of this project.
