Research On Safety Control During Transportation And Installation Of Large-scale Caisson

During the construction of modern deep-water port terminal, the application oflarge-scale caisson for foundation gets more popular, of which the workmanship hasmatured and safety construction gets more important as well. However, safetyincidents and hazard occur from time to time during construction period, therefore,it’s necessary to well learn the key points of safety control and analysis the status ofcaisson in every aspect of entire construction period, which can achieve the target ofsafety control during construction period.In this paper, we set the caisson construction of Yantai Port West Port LiquidChemical Terminal as an example to research the workmanship of caissontransportation, towing, curing and installation, and to calculate the safety status andaddress some problems encountered during construction process.First of all, this pager gives a brief introduction of the project with a reliableconstruction method based on the real geological condition, and also indicates adetailed description for high-pressure ballonet transportation, towing along coastaland different installation methods for caisson construction.Second, the main parameters of caisson construction such as technicalperformance of the ballonet, caisson floating stability and towing force are calculatedand verified in this paper. And it analyzes the capacity of machinery and equipmentrequired for different construction stage which conducts the right application ofsuitable equipment.Finally, this paper analyzes the reasons for subsidence and cracking caused byextreme weather or wave during the actual construction period, and provides somerelevant measures for salvage and remedy as well.Based on real construction experience, this paper is to research the safety issuesthat may arise during caisson construction, and provide some solution to address themwhich can be reference for similar projects.
