With the development of social economy, automobiles become more and more. Thetravel resources and travel mode of city tilt the motor vehicle too much. But the reserved slowtraffic system for pedestrians and bicycles is suffering from neglect for a long time, and thewalker’s demands are also seriously neglected. There are a large number of walkers in themain road. and run in the poor walking environment. This situation not only reduces thecapacity of the road, but also triggers a series of traffic problems and appears roadcongestion.In the management congestion schemes based on the public transportation, we shouldemphasize the important role of pedestrian traffic and bicycle traffic. In the research ofhuman nature trail, the achievements are plentiful and substantial in Taiwan area, but themainland is lack of the achievements in this research field. Therefore, it is necessary toresearch comprehensively the design of the sidewalk and the improved measures ofpedestrian environment in Taiwan area,and provide the proper guidance for the problems ofpedestrian traffic environment in the mainland areas. It has far-reaching significance forcreate a good travel environment.First of all, the paper study the planning and design of sidewalk in Taiwan area based onthe summary of the domestic and foreign research, and analysis some bad cases of humantrail actual in Taiwan area. Secondly,the paper analysis the specific measures to improveroad traffic environment., and then discuss the improvement method of pedestrianenvironment combined with the construction current situation of pedestrian environment inthe mainland area. Finally, take the example of travel mode of walk and bike in Xiamen cityand development strategy of slow space in Zhuhai City, the two examples show the practicalvalue of the study.
