| With the increasing number of star hotels, the hotel market is increasingly intense.luxury business hotels have raised guestroom standards to compete, mainly in the roomsize and bathroom. The increase in room size lays a foundation for characteristicguestroom. This article will mainly focus on how to design characteristic guestrooms.This research is based on data offered by ECADI, a large institute expert in hoteldesigning. Through the data we can sum up the guestroom standards that luxury hotelsshould reach. These standards can be used as reference when designing characteristicguestrooms.On the premise of the database, we conduct a research into characteristic guestroomdesign. Through study of many excellent guestrooms, we attempt to adjust the existingguestroom patterns. With the development of guestroom standard and the change oflifestyle, we believe some patterns in guestroom can be changed. This improvesflexibility of guestroom design, which will lead to a characteristic guestroom.Based on the research results above, we select2kinds of hotels to redesign. For newhotels we choose4.5m-bay and5m-bay rooms to design; for old hotels we chooseSheraton Jiuzhaigou and Four Seasons Shanghai to redesign. By resizing the room andchanging the room layout, we acquire more characteristic guestrooms. |
