Design Research On Luxury Resorts Boutique Hotel Rooms

Since the beginning of21th century, as the hotel industry of the world keep evolving,hotel development in China is experiencing a rapid progress, especially in high-end area.Guest room profit is a crucial part of a hotel’s total income, therefore it has significantmeaning to understand the trends of modern hotel room design, in order to increase the priceand rental rate by creating desirable hotel rooms with unique features.First, the paper researched the development of luxury boutique hotel rooms in China andabroad, systematically classified and analyzed hotel guests and their psychological patterns,presented the definition of luxury resort boutique hotel. Then, the paper studied severalworld-wide well known hotels’ guest room design, in terms of the analysis and comparison offunctions, furniture, bathroom, materials and colors. Third, by presenting the design projectof Long Wan Jun Tang boutique hotel of Qi Xian Ling in Hainan, the paper verified andconcluded the design theory, from the writer’s personal practice experience. Last, the paperconcluded design notions for reference, which can be applied to modern luxury resortboutique hotel room design in China.By using the information from onsite survey, document retrieval and project practice, thepaper studied and classified a number of luxury boutique hotels that have less than100guestrooms, aims to provide comparison and reference for hotel rooms design in China.
