The transfer efficiency of construction information is always a difficultproblem need to be solved in construction industry. The expression ofconstruction information is lack of a uniform standard and the differentsemantic specifications are incompatible. The information attenuation duringthe transfer process and inconsistent explanation between differentparticipants always cause huge additional costs. The research of standardizedexpression and description method of the information during the constructionproject’s life cycle has a great important significance. That can improve theefficiency of the construction industry, eliminate the information islands andbridge the digital divides.The exchange ways of construction information data are discussed and theuniform building information model exchanging method is confirmed as anidea way to exchange the construction information. Industry FoundationClasses is introduced to describe and exchange the life cycle buildinginformation.Construction project information is abstracted to building product,process,control, resource, crew and so on. And the relationship informationdescription method between them is studied. Information description methodand correlative mechanism based on the entity attributes is interpreted. Theproject breakdown structure base on the constructional element is proposed.And the relationship between the model decomposition level and the amountof the information is presented.In the schedule control domain, the information description method of task,task time, logical sequence and nesting between the tasks and other entitiesare researched. And the relationship between the constructional element andthe task is studied. It realizes the connections between the constructional elements and work tasks, and the connections between work tasks andschedules.In the cost control domain, the concept of the constructional elements’standard property set is proposed. The mechanism of the automatic extractionof the quantity items and the mechanism of automatic calculation the quantityof the items are put forward. Project cost calculation process base on theconstructional elements is presented. It realizes the connections between thecost items and the constructional elements, the connections between theelement quantity and the external quota, and the connections between theelement quantity and the external market price.In the resource management domain, the information description method ofconstruction resource and the relationship among crew, task, work schedule,cost schedule are presented. And the resource cost’s attributes are defined.The flow path of the establishing the information model and the workingprocess of management of the schedule, cost and resource are proposed.The complicated relationships among the building products, progress, costand resources are distinguished. This thesis does an in-depth and systemicexploration on how to describe the building information from the viewpoint oftechnology. It has a great important realistic significance.
