BIM is regarded as the second technological revolution in construction engineering.BIM as the carrier of the construction project information can achieve the Collaborative work of whole phase of the project,the whole task and all participants.In the highway project,the technology of BIM is in the initial stage.As the technical problems of information transmission can not be resolved,BIM application is also concentrated in the task-level application stage,to achieve BIM project-level applications,and even enterprise-level applications still have a long way to go.This paper mainly studies the specific application of BIM in the whole life cycle of highway engineering project and how to express highway engineering information based on IFC standard.In this paper,the investigation method is used to study the application of BIM technology in the whole life cycle of highway engineering projects in China.Meanwhile,this paper uses PowerCivil to model a secondary highway project and use ABD to add information.By analyzing the current situation of highway BIM application,the key technical problem that BIM needs to solve is information transmission and sharing.In this paper,the basic framework of STEP and IFC is studied by literature research.On its common data description language EXPRESS and a common data description language EXPRESS-G,is introduced systematically.It is concluded that the highway engineering information can be expressed and expanded based on the IFC standard.The extension of highway engineering information mainly adopts the method of adding entity definition and extension based on attribute set.The roadbed information is expanded according to the following four parts:IfcSpatialStructureElement / IfcElement / IfcElementAssembly /IfcElementComponent.Mainly use Ifc Rel Aggregates and Ifc Rel Contained In Spatial Structure to add new entities and the original IFC standard definition of the entity to establish contact.To realize the expression of highway engineering information.Finally,the basic framework is defined according to the IFC standard: Schema Definition/ Types/ Entities/ Entities.Highway engineering roadbed information for basic expansion,as an example of expansion.A total of nine entity types,33 entities were added.This paper studies Highway BIM and object-oriented data description language,which provides some engineering experience for highway BIM designing and other BIM applications.It establishes a certain theoretical foundation for multi-specialty information exchange of highway engineering.Which has certain practical significance to promote the development of highway BIM technology.
