Light steel structure in this article refers to the structural framework formconsisting of cold-bent thin-walled steel profiles connected by bolts or self-tappingscrews, light steel structure house is an environmental friendly, safe and convenient,low-rise construction structure which is relatively widely used in the world. Under thecontext of strictly controlled approval of villa project in China, this structure is mainlyapplied to rural areas due to its advantages of saving energy and land, rapid construction,easy operation and good performance of earth quake resistance and durability; whenapplied to rural residences it is possible to solve the problem of the status quo of ruralresidences of poor quality, short service life. If the issues of cost control and variety ofneeds can be solved through standardized design, light steel rural residences will haveimportant practical value of application. The main focus of this study is research forstandardized design and rural application of light steel rural residences.Firstly, this article sorts out related regulations of light steel residence bothdomestic and abroad, as the technical support of the research. Compared withsophisticated light steel construction system abroad, the development of domestic steelresidence is lagging behind, but in recent years the introduction of related industrystandards provides a strong support to the promotion of low-rise light steel residenceapplications.Secondly, this article summarizes the combination of space and the size modulusof rural residences, which is the premise of standardized design. Based on field researchon the as well as the collation of the relevant literature, it summarizes the spatial patternof the status quo farm residences and comes up with possible trends of futuredevelopment.According to the two parts of basic research above, this article establishesstandardized component library of light steel structure rural residence, matches lightsteel structure with the dimensions and modulus, comes up with standardization designof rural residences and Standardized component library for structural components andother parts.At last, taking the research object of settlements of Wang household Village, SunTown, Shunyi District, Beijing for example, explores the rich space combinations and applicability of the light steel rural residences, through a combination of space modulesto adapt to the needs of different farmers, even comes up with the vision from theperspective of updating village construction; and carries out the research of convenienceand economy of light steel rural residences in rural applications.The main contribution of the thesis is in the rural residences space models aresummarized on the basis of both light steel structure system to optimize the design, tounderstand further simplify the existing complex systems and parts library, which willhelp the rural extension; at the same time, standardized designs are carried out throughthese simplified components, to suit for the more industrialized, large-scale production,so as to control the rural residence construction costs, and reduce the difficulty ofconstruction; in rural applications, through the combination of light steel ruralresidences space diversity, thus enhancing the applicability of this structure in thedifferent functional needs.
