Nowadays, We are facing the serious worldwide problems caused by energy crisisand environmental pollution, The unbalance of use of electricity energy in the day andnight cause serious energy waste. Air-condition and heat pumps are largely used, Owing tothe negative influence of the refrigerant on environment, seeking alternative refrigeranthas become more and more urgent. Ice storage air-conditioning system uses water asmedium and has many excellent characteristics, for example energy conservation andenergy protection. So it has an active and realistic meaning to study the ice slurry.Ice slurry is a kind of two-phase solution which contains vast tiny ice crystals, andthe ice crystals have diameter of several ten to several hundred micrometers. The ice slurryis equipped with water and can be transported as the ordinary liquid. Ice slurry has theadvantage of high safety and energy protection. It’s an effective cool storage mediumwhich can release a great amout of latent heat when dissolved. The system needs lessequipments such as blast pipes、air valves and heat exchanges. The developing potentialityof this system is tremendous. There are many types of dynamic ice-making system at present such as mechanicalscraping method, vacuum method, fluid bed method, supercool method, direct contactmethod. their advantages and disadvantage are different. Ice slurry is two-phase solutionand has complex flowing process. There are less study on its flow and hear tranfer. Thepaper describes a dynamic ice making device which is simple and efficient. We also put upexperimental table and did a lot of experiments about ice making and flow heat transfer. We record datas and analyse them. The ice packing factor and heat transfer coefficient canbe calculated.Meanwhile, we use FLUENT to simulate the flow and heat exchange in theplate heat exchanger. It can be compared with the experiment results.
