Heat exchangers are the indispensable equipments for heat flow exchange in theprocess of industrial production and occupy an important position in the productionprocess. How to improve the efficiency of heat exchange has become an important issueand also become one of many scholars research topics today. This article research onthe inner side of tube. First, for the transverse grooved tube and the circular tube withtwisted tape inserts, the mechanism of strengthen heat transfer was introduced briefly,then experimental research on the water in the three kinds of tube flow and heat transfercharacteristics, and comparing with the smooth pipe. Finally, the present paper use theFLUENT technology to explain the mechanism of strengthening heat exchange in thetransverse grooved tube and the circular tube with twisted tape inserts.In the experimental part of this dissertation, heat transfer and flow resistance inlarge transverse grooved tube, small transverse grooved tube, twistered strip tube andsmooth pipe were studied and compared. Correlations of the experimental data of thethree tubes were curve fitted. Flow characteristics, such as pressure difference, frictionalcoefficient, and friction ratio to smooth tube varying with Reynolds number wereobtaind and discussed. Heat transfer coefficient, Nusselt number and their influencingfactors were reported. Meanwhile Nusselt ratio to smooth tube varying with Reynoldsnumber were obtaind and discussed.With the continuous development of the technology of enhancing heat transfer,how to improve and describe the efficiency of heat exchange equipment has become animportant problem. We uses comprehensive strengthening heat transfer factor, and findit increases with Reynolds number, and the heat exchange effect is remarkable at lowReynolds number.Numerical simulation using CFD software FLUENT gives the velocity field, the temperature field and stress field. Comparion of simulation value with experiment dateexplains the cause of higher thermal efficiency in the heat transfer enhancement tubesthan that in a smooth tube. Finally, the paper gives a brief introduction of heatexchanger performance evaluation from the point of theoretical analysis.
